Ecourses to help you hear God

I recognize that a lot of evangelicals will balk at the mention of declarations, it might sound too close to the perverted manifestations the world practices, or it might sound like a prosperity gospel associated with charismatic circles. I have seen the danger of the ditches on both sides of this road, and here is where I land. I’ll give you my argument for declarations, and I’ll share my suggested list for starting the new year, and then I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments (even if you disagree).

As I process these shifts in my life, I’ve noticed a few things. A few lessons I learned, and I’m writing this as much for myself as I am for you - hard fought for nuggets of wisdom that I don’t want to lose. If I’m going to learn something the hard way, I want to share the cheat code so the people around me can learn it the easy way!

Even as we look at this “formula” for prayer, we must remember that it is about connection. In each of these “steps” of asking, seeking and knocking, we are intentionally engaged in connection with the Holy Spirit. It is impossible to pray this way if you don’t know Him. If you don’t think He is good, that He is for you, that He loves you completely, you wouldn’t dare ask, let alone seek or knock. If you believe there is any chance He is waiting to punish you or that He only wants you to have the bare minimum of what’s available, you would never knock.
